I believe we should start from zero, reexamining all our current beliefs and practices to rebuild a system where power is truly shared. By rethinking our political, economic, and social structures, we can create a genuine democracy that empowers every individual—even as the digital era reshapes our world.
What I would like to change is accountability and togetherness.
Increased international cooperation for the sake of security and well-being instead of political or economic gain. An increase in education and overall engagement from society.
I wish everyone had the same opportunities to do what their passion is. I wish society wouldn't limit certain groups.
I would like to see a world where freedom is truly inclusive, where it is a lived reality for all regardless of gender, race, socio-economic status or geopolitical positioning. I want to advocate for epistemic justice to ensure that marginalized communities have the power to shape their own narratives, policies and knowledge systems. Freedom should not be dictated by those in power but co-created by those who have been historically silenced. Freedom must be a fundamental right for all. True freedom cannot exist without dismantling the structures of inequality that exist in our society. Freedom must be rooted in justice, it is about collective liberation. Justice should not be an afterthought but the foundation upon which true freedom is built.
I am very passionate about the rights of people on the move and given the growing restriction and authoritarian trend of European migration policies, I strongly believe there is a lot of work to be done in drafting and pushing for critical, bottom up, intersectional and local-regionally defined approaches to more humane and secure migration policies. Additionally these policies should not only focus only asylum seekers, but rather include and take into account the real shift in the diversity of migrant profiles and ensure safe and context based safeguards for people on the move.
Freedom is no longer an excuse for harming others and the environment, such as decolonization, freedom to consume does not mean overconsumption, and freedom of resources does not mean the plundering of resources
When it comes to freedom, I aspire to witness a world where every youth has the right, resources, and opportunity to express themselves, engage in decision-making, and shape their own future without fear or limitation. Where everyone is safe and respectful about each others choices. I would like to see freedom of expression/speech being safeguarded both online and offline so that the youth can express their opinions without censorship, surveillance, or fear of retaliation. Of course, this expression should also be done respectfully. I would like to see everyone have equal access to education and to sources of news so that they are up-to-date with all the current affairs. It would be a major plus is the source of news is not censored or influenced by an outside source. I would like to witness financial freedom by making sure there is better job security, affordable education, fair wages and more. In this vein I hope people of all races, nationalities, gender, etc. are treated equally and have the same opportunities as each other.
I’d love to see people educate themselves more on what freedom means to them and what it brings them. Maybe that way people will understand how important it is to bring the rising autocratic forces to a stop.
